Geo narrowed his eyes on Bruce halfway through the flight. Till then he had been silent. He kept his gaze until Bruce brought his attention to Geo. “You started all of this you know.” He said darkly. “Believe it or not, you’re the one responsible for unleashing a bloodthirsty thing onto Gotham.” Geo looked out the window as his hand wandered to his side lightly. “If you wouldn’t have left Gotham, I wouldn’t have gotten to the point of being so overwhelmed with trying to protect the city. I never would have gotten to the point where I finally gave up.” He clenched his fists as his tone went up.
“Most of all, you should have paid some /fucking/ attention to who you had running Wayne Enterprises while you were off having a ball.” He growled out as he brought his gaze back to him. A stinging went through his side as he rose to his feet. “How does it feel to know a product meant for military use was sold off to a citizen? Not a big deal right? Well, here’s the punchline. The /fucking/ product in question was purchased by my aunt. Purchased under the table to kill my uncle while he slept.” Geo barked angrily as his heart rate started to rise, causing the machine to start beeping lightly. He looked over to his side shaking his head.
“I forced myself to go past my nature and do my damnedest to help where I could. I told myself being this was going to be different. I told myself I’d do good for Gotham. Now I don’t even know if I believe the things that go through my own head! I don’t know if this is a dream or if I really am awake because of where I’ve landed!” he said through gritted teeth. “Up until then, you were my fucking idol. I wanted what you had. I wanted the pride in knowing I did what I always said I would… I wanted to make up for the fact that I have to kill to live. But you know what, the way I look at it now, I couldn’t have had a worse idol. You can’t even make up your own fucking mind without second guessing yourself. And now you’re actually helping someone who doesn’t deserve-“ he had gone to screaming before his teeth clenched at the last words.
His hand rose lightly to his chest as he felt an odd constriction. “You were my fucking mentor. Now, I can’t even see it. Remember just who you are! You’re the goddamn Batman! You’ve protected Gotham for so long and then out of nowhere you took off… You left, leaving everyone at the hands of their kind.” Geo said as he felt himself tearing up. “You saved my life before you took off. But you wouldn’t remember that, would you. The thirteen year old kid hiding, crying in a closet after witnessing her father brutally murder and rape both her mother and brother.” He shook lightly as he took in a breath.
“For that, I thank you. For that, I always knew I wanted to work with or help you… I can never repay for what you did for me, but… The moment you left Gotham… It was like one big “fuck you” to the entire city… What was the reason? Why would you leave?” he asked before grasping his chest as he fell back in the chair. He looked over to the machine and watched in a fuzzy haze as he sank down into the seat. He watched as the line got smaller and smaller, before it went flat. With that, his eyes rolled back as his lungs gave out.
