Once Joker was pretty sure Adi had finally fallen asleep, Joker slipped out of bed and out of the bedroom. He started peeking into all the other rooms, curiously. He found Damien and Geo in one and-soon found Jokester in another. It was a work room. There were parts every and a desk and bed. He saw Jokester deeply working on something. Joker silently closed the door behind him. Jokester hadn't noticed. "Working on getting us out of here?" Joker suddenly asked. Jokester jumped and turned toward him. He nodded at him, stopping his work to see what Joker wanted. Joker went over and sat on the-bed. "This place is interesting. I would actually like to fix it up a little, but you know, I don't have that much time or enough care to." Joker laughed. Jokester shifted and shook his head softly, not sure how to respond. "You want to save this city, right?" Joker asked. Jokester thought for a moment before nodding.
"Yes."
"Then get rid of Owlman."
"I can't." Jokester replied.
"Why not?" He-asked.
Jokester shifted and turned back to his work. "I just...can't." Joker stayed silent, waiting for him to continue. After a long silence, he did. "Owlman kill my boss at my comedy club and so I-started doing acts, making fun of him and his sidekick. Well he'd been watching and didn't like that so he attacked me and my girlfriend. He killed Harleen and gave me these scars." Jokester-explained. Joker raised an eyebrow.
"And that's why you don't want to get rid of him or is it you're 'No killing' rule?" Joker asked.
Jokester sighed and shook his head. His eyes seemed to glaze over, not really working on the work anymore. "I started out with just becoming this." He said, referring to himself. "To humiliate him like he did to me, but then I slowly realized he had shown me my true-potential." Jokester motioned to his works. "I could have been doing this long ago. I could be helping the greater good, but I wasted my life doing a comedy act."
Joker watched him. "Why don't you do it now? The whole greater good thing? You still have a chance. Owlman may have shown you you're potential but you don't have to let him walk all over you." Joker told him.
Jokester shifted. "Because..I can't. I'm not sure if you have the same thing with your Batman, but there's something about Owlman. Whenever I confront him, I'm completely ready to finally /take him down/, but then I see him and I /want/ him to hit me." Jokester clinched his fists and shook his head softly. "I want him to beat me and I soak up whatever he does to me like some sick /freak/." Joker stood up and moved over to him, but Jokester didn't seem to notice.
"Yes."
